So as I like to tell people, no project I ever start is "dead" it's just on hold indefinitely until I have time, energy, and inspiration (usually at least 2 of those) to get back into the swing of things. This is true for my fanfiction, original fiction, crochet, ukulele practice, electronic DIY projects, artwork, and yes-- this website. But when I do come back, I USUALLY try to come back with something to show for my absence. A meaty new chapter, a brand new song, a cool electronic project... And in this case, what I'm hoping to come back with is a webgarden showcasing my entire (well... almost entire) PC and PC parts collection. It skews heavily toward retro parts, but I do also list my newer machines! It's an export of my Obsidian vault I made when I desperately wanted to catalog my PC stuff during my family's cross-country move to Colorado.

This is something that had been on my heart to do for... gosh has it almost been two years now?! It always irked me that I advertised for tech and electronic DIY talk, but I was so slow to follow through. Well. Pressure and desperation serve as great catalysts I guess! I needed to whittle down my PC stuff and I really didn't want to throw things away that could be valuable, useful, or just personally interesting to me. So whilst processing ALOT of really difficult emotional trauma, I... er... sought comfort in machines and machine parts! When all was said and done, I realized... Oh wow, we're neurospicy as fuck, buuuut we already knew that, ha ha.

Anyway, I've already exported the vault to HTML. I just need to upload it to my neocities directory. But first, I need to scrub everything of personal info (this WAS originally a personal vault, after all). Gotta delete/edit full names, passwords, etc. Depending on when I start, this may take a few days (or maybe I could get it done in one if my husband is home to deal with the kids and I REALLY tunnel into it). Anyway, for now, just know that I have several projects partly completed for the site. I was partway through a second post for my X-Files retrospective. I had acquired screenshots for a review of a strange Scooby Doo film I'd seen for the film reviews page. I even started working on a fan zine for Bret Easton Ellis' first novel, Less Than Zero. I probably have a decent summary of Amy Shew's Against Technoableism that I could share from my vault, but I need to double check the legality of summaries (the same way I need to check the legality of quoting Ellis' novel). I definitely have fanfiction I can cross-post here (more My Little Pony fanfiction, sorry not sorry). So I'm actually not short at all on content to share! Just... Y'know... TIME and ENERGY is what I'm short on. Not so much inspiration, but time and energy.

Sorry this isn't a super exciting update. I can share a screenshot or two though of what I'm hoping to upload soon from the electronics vault! Only true PC nerds might find this interesting, but hey... this is a personal site. I'm not catering to any particular audience but me when all is said and done. :)

Take care of yourselves! Choose love, help your neighbors, and I dunno... pet a cat or something. Till next time, ya'll. <3

A preview picture of my Sound Blaster 16 PCI page, showing the sealed, unopened box itself. It's rectangular in shape and on the left side is the word SOUND printed up along the side in big bold purplish-blue letters. The right side shows an angled shot of the card, as well as the words 'Blaster 16'. And the typical selling text you'd expect on 90s products from this era. 'CD Quality audio with a fast PCI interface,' etc.
